This study aims to understand how Muslim readers, particularly female adolescents, experience hyperreality through the Alternative Universe (AU) Boys Love (BL) thread on Twitter (X) featuring public figures Joong and Dunk. Using a qualitative approach and netnographic methods, data was collected through digital observation and in-depth interviews. The results show that readers are able to interpret the AU narrative selectively and reflectively, making it a space for entertainment and creative exploration without neglecting religious values. Social media has been shown to shape emotional engagement and online communities, creating complex personal realities that sometimes conflict with cultural or religious norms.
